Tom Moran
Tom Moran is president and chief executive officer of Mutual of America, one of the nation’s preeminent life insurance companies, and has long been involved in numerous humanitarian and community causes. He is one of the most familiar faces in Irish American philanthropy.
Moran has quietly helped a number of organizations and charities over the years, including the Emerald Isle Immigration Center, from where he hired a number of new immigrants to America.
He serves on the board of the New York Foundling Hospital, one of his favorite organizations, and on the board of the National Center for Disability Services, the Life Insurance Council of New York, the University College Dublin Graduate School of Business and his alma mater, Manhattan College. Moran is a past recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and the Calvary Medal.
He has had a long-time love affair with Ireland, and travels there frequently both for business and pleasure. His ancestors came from Counties Fermanagh and Cavan. He lives in New York City with his wife, Joan, and his Harley Davidson motorbikes.
