Tom Monaghan
Charter Communications
Tom Monaghan is Executive Vice President, Field Operations for Charter Communications. He joined Charter Communications in 2014 and has held multiple roles in operations management, including Senior Vice President, Field Operations. He played a pivotal role in several high-profile initiatives, including the largest cable systems integration in history following the 2016 merger of Charter with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks.
As Executive Vice President, Field Operations, Tom oversees the entire Field Operations organization of more the 30,000 employees across 41 states.
Tom currently leads several key initiatives at Charter, including the Company’s multi-year Rural Construction Initiative, an investment of approximately $9 billion that will ultimately connect approximately 1.75 million new homes and small businesses nationwide to gigabit broadband. Tom and his team are also engaged in evolving Charter’s network to deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds that will enable the high bandwidth applications of the future.
Inducted into the Cable TV Pioneers in 2023, Tom serves on the Board of Directors for the Syndeo Institute at The Cable Center and is a member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE). He is a graduate of Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing’s (CTAM) Cable Executive Management program at Harvard Business School. He received a B.S. in business management and economics from Empire State University.
Tom was born in Manhattan, New York, to first-generation Irish Americans, hailing from Goleen, Co. Cork, on his father’s side and Carrickmore, Co. Tyrone, on his mother’s side. One of five children, his childhood was filled with a love of sports, specifically football which he played through High School, and his proud Irish heritage led him to study at the Verlin School of Irish Step Dancing, where he was a championship dancer from the ages of five through 22. Tom and his wife are the proud parents of five children and reside in Fairfield, CT.
