Richard Chambers
Richard is the global head of Repo Trading and the global co-head of the Short Macro Trading joint venture. He is a member of the Firmwide LIBOR Working Group, the Treasury Market Practices Group and the Global Banking & Markets LIBOR Transition Strategy Group. Richard joined the firm as a vice president in 2015, was named managing director in 2017 and partner in 2020.
Richard is also a member of the Alternative Reference Rate Committee which is a group of private-market participants convened by the Federal Reserve Board and the New York Fed to help ensure a successful transition from U.S. dollar LIBOR to a more robust reference rate, its recommended alternative, the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
Born in Newport, County Mayo, Richard attended high school at St. Jarlath’s College Tuam, County Galway, and then received his MSc in Finance from the National University of Ireland Galway in 2005 where he also met his wife Lyndsey and from Warwick Business School in 2006.
Richard is an active supporter of the GAA and Irish philanthropic organizations including the American Ireland funds, CMRF, and the Irish Arts Center.
