Phil Gaughran
As U.S. Chief Integration Officer for mcgarrybowen, Phil is focused on reinventing the model of how an advertising agency could and should work to better serve clients in the digital age. Phil is responsible for all mergers and acquisitions integrating capabilities across mcgarrybowen’s U.S. offices, and forming strong partnerships with other Dentsu Aegis Network brands (mcgarrybowen’s parent company) across the U.S. and the globe.A consumer strategist by trade, Phil has 19 years of industry experience, ten with mcgarrybowen. He has created award-winning strategies for some of the world’s biggest brands including Verizon, Burger King, Budweiser, Apple, Chevron, AT&T, Corona, Under Armor, Crayola, J.P. Morgan Chase, and American Express. Born and raised in Shannon, County Clare, Phil attended the University of Limerick where he earned a Bachelor of Business Studies. Both of Phil’s parents are from Limerick with his father growing up in Hospital and his mother in Limerick City, which created a tough decision between supporting Limerick or Clare in hurling. “Though I’ve been gone from Ireland for almost half my life and despite the fact that the U.S. is now home to me and my wife Alison – the longer I’m away, the more I appreciate what growing in Ireland did for my life and career – it gave me an amazing education, it cultivated my love for storytelling, which led to my career and it gave me an appreciation for what the generations before me experienced during their emigration from home. Having had the privilege to travel the world due to my job, I can honestly say that there’s no place like Ireland and I’m thankful to still have family and friends to connect to, both personally and professionally.”
