His mother’s line, the Melodys, traces back to Tiernascragh, County Galway. In honor of his roots, and in support of Irish studies at Holy Cross, Peter created the Professor Edward Callahan Irish Studies Support Fund; the Callahan Fund encourages student and faculty research, hosts renowned and exciting speakers, as well as promotes Irish cultural events, enriching the lives of students and faculty alike at Holy Cross.
Peter was born in Boston and he continues to live in Massachusetts. He has three children: Peter Andrew (Drew), Caroline (Carlie), and Alexandra (Allie).
