Liam O’Neil
Liam O’Neil is a Managing Director at Merrill and Head of Business Development and Private Wealth Services for the Merrill Private Wealth Management, International and Institutional Groups.
Since joining Merrill Lynch in 1997, Liam has held leadership roles in the firm’s Global Markets and Global Wealth divisions, focusing on derivatives and structured product-related origination, marketing, and sales. Notably, he was part of the team that launched Sector SPDRS and HOLDRS and led the team that built Merrill’s Market Linked Investments platform into an industry leader.
The youngest of ten children, Liam is very proud of his Irish heritage as an O’Neil and a Coakley. He is a third-generation Irish American with both sides hailing from County Cork. A native of Miami, Florida, himself, Liam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and an MBA in Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Liam is on the boards of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation and Heroes Linked Network. He is active with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation. Most importantly, he is the proud father of Conor, Aidan, Kieran, and Maeve.
