Kevin Conway is the Vice Chairman of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, a global private equity firm known for blending investment skills with operating capabilities to build great businesses. CD&R’s portfolio of 45 companies has revenues in excess of $120 billion and over 475,000 employees. Over his thirty-year career at CD&R, Kevin has held several leadership positions, including Chairman of the Investment Committee for over 23 years and Managing Partner and member of the Management Committee.
Prior to joining CD&R in 1994, Kevin held several senior leadership positions with Goldman Sachs & Co., where he was elected a partner. A magna cum laude graduate of Amherst College, Kevin also has a joint degree from Columbia University, with an MBA from Columbia Business School and a JD from Columbia Law School.
Kevin is a trustee at Carnegie Corporation of New York, a board member of the New York Catholic Foundation, and a vice chairman (former chair) of Student Sponsor Partners, a charity that provides scholarships and mentoring to inner-city high school students. Together with his wife, Dee, Kevin is a long-time supporter of many charitable and civic causes, including Catholic Charities, Adventures in Learning, the Irish Arts Center, City Harvest, Little Flower Children’s Services, and other organizations addressing education, social services, the arts, and the needs of the disadvantaged. He is a former member of the Board of Catholic Health Services. Kevin also has held several volunteer positions working with the leadership and alumni of Amherst College. Kevin is currently co-chair of Access for All, a scholarship initiative at Chaminade High School aimed at providing full scholarships for students and families in the most underserved communities on Long Island.
Kevin, who traces his heritage to immigrants from Leitrim and Cork in the 1800s, served as the Grand Marshal of the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 2023. He helped raise over $1.5 million to combat food insecurity.
