John Fitzpatrick is president and CEO of the Fitzpatrick Hotel Group, North America. He has served as chairman of the American Hotel & Lodging Association and was chairman of the Hotel Association of New York City for three terms. He sits on the executive board of the Ireland Funds after serving as Chairman of the Ireland Fund America for six years, and also sits on the board of the Ireland-U.S. Council.

He was recently named Chairman of the Queen’s University Belfast Foundation Board. Active in a number of philanthropic activities that provide support for children facing serious health challenges and their families, community development, and the peace process in Northern Ireland, John was conferred with an honorary OBE in 2008. He received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2002. Queen’s University Belfast awarded John an honorary Doctorate of Science in economics in 2011, and in 2013 Dublin City University bestowed him with an honorary philosophy degree.

In 1993, John founded the Eithne and Paddy Fitzpatrick Memorial Foundation to honor his late parents. The foundation has generated more than $4.5 million for numerous worthy causes in Ireland and the United States.
