James O’Riordan
James O’Riordan is a Portfolio Consultant within BlackRock’s Portfolio Consulting group. The team conducts detailed consulting engagements with Chief Investment Officers and Investment Committees at Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) around decision-making, portfolio construction, communication, and risk management. This is executed across multiple asset classes as well as alpha, factor, and index-based products. James began his journey with BlackRock in 2018 as an Aladdin Risk Specialist and has held roles in both the U.S. and Europe.
James parents, hailing from Cavan and Cork, immigrated to New York where James was born. They eventually moving back to Tralee, Co. Kerry where James spent most of his upbringing. James holds a BSc in Business Information Systems from University College Cork.
James is very passionate about community involvement. Back home, he and his family are Puppy Walkers and Fundraising Coordinators for The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. Since returning to New York, James has taken on a leadership role on the board of the Irish Network NYC. This network harnesses the energy and talent of the Irish Diaspora, providing a platform for professionals to connect and contribute to New York’s vibrant Irish community.
