James ‘Jim’ O’Donnell is a Managing Director at Citi and CEO of Citi Global Wealth Management. He was appointed to this position in January 2021. Prior to that, Jim was Global Head of Investor Sales and Relationship Management within the Markets and Securities Services Division. He is a member of the Institutional Clients Group Management Committee.

As Head of Citi Global Wealth, also established in January 2021, Jim oversees Citi Private Bank and Citi’s Consumer Wealth organization under a single, integrated platform serving clients across the wealth continuum, from the affluent segment to ultra-high net worth clients. Under his leadership, this new platform offers world-class capital markets expertise, Citi’s distinctive global footprint, high-quality research, and distinct Private Bank and Consumer Wealth relationship coverage teams, delivering highly personalized attention to clients.

Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in comparative religion from Princeton University. He is a second-generation Irish American, with his father’s family hailing from Dublin and his mother’s from Galway. He credits his Irish heritage, along with his family and his faith, as being the foundation of his life.
