James Farley

James Farley is the CEO of Ford. He also serves as a member of the company’s board of directors. Previously, Farley served as president of New Businesses, Technology and Strategy. He also served as Ford’s executive vice president and president of Global Markets. Farley joined Toyota in 1990 and had a distinguished career there before joining Ford. A highlight of his time there was his responsibility for the successful launch and rollout of Toyota’s Scion brand. James was later promoted to vice president of Scion and was responsible for all Scion activities, and went on to become group vice president and general manager of Lexus. A cousin of the late comedian Chris Farley, James Farley earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and computer science from Georgetown University and has an M.B.A. from UCLA. His Irish-American grandfather was a longtime Ford worker who eventually ran a Lincoln-Mercury dealership near Detroit. James and his wife, Lia, have three children.
