David Dineen
As executive vice president, head of community banking at Bankwell, David Dineen oversees the organization’s deposit lines of businesses, including retail, commercial, and treasury management, as well as ebanking and marketing.
Born in Jersey City, David graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a B.S. in business administration and marketing. Prior to Bankwell, he held the role of senior vice president and national market manager of Capital One Bank.
David is a third-generation Irish American, with his father’s family, the Dineens, hailing from Roscommon and his mother’s, the Brodericks, from Mayo. His mother’s grandparents originally went to Long Island for their honeymoon, and, taken in by its charm, returned to Ireland only to tell their families that they would soon move permanently. “I think it’s an Irish family value to take care of each other always,” he says. “Our home was always open to friends for food, shelter, or just to spend time together, and these are qualities my children are learning as they grow up.” David lives in Darien, Connecticut with his wife Ashley and daughters Hayley, Colby, and Reagan.
