Darragh McCarthy
FinTrU
Darragh McCarthy founded FinTrU in 2013 and serves as the company’s CEO. He is a member of the Executive Committee and is responsible for managing overall operations and setting the company’s strategic direction and objectives.
A highly experienced leader with over 30 years in the Financial Services industry, Darragh founded FinTrU while identifying Global Investment Banks’ increasing demand for first-class resources to navigate the regulatory landscape. The company supports several large U.S. Financial Institutions with technology-enabled Client Lifecycle Management solutions.
FinTrU employs over 1,500 people and has offices across the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Portugal, and the United States. Under Darragh’s leadership, the company expanded to New York in November 2020, establishing FinTrU Inc in Manhattan.
Prior to FinTrU, Darragh spent 18 years at Morgan Stanley and lived in New York for stages of his career. He performed roles as Head Fixed Income Sales – North America and Global COO for ISG (Institutional Securities Group) while based in New York.
Outside of FinTrU, Darragh is the Vice President of the Belfast Chamber Board and a member of the Innovation and Growth Advisory Board for the City of London. He is also the Chair of the Fellowship Programme Advisory Board for the Centre for Democracy and Peace Building in Northern Ireland.
Darragh has a First Class Honours BComm International from University College of Dublin, Ireland. Originally from County Cork, Darragh lives in Belfast and is married with three children.
