Dan O’Connell is the managing director of Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch. He graduated from Villanova University with a B.A. and joined Merrill Lynch in 1983.

For the past 20 years Dan has been a member of the Merrill Lynch Circle of Champions. He has been recognized as a Financial Times Top 400 Global Advisor. And both Registered Rep and Barrons have named him one of the Top 100 Financial Advisors in America.

A native of Port Washington, NY, Dan is a second-generation Irish American with roots in Kerry and Waterford. Of his Irish heritage he says “it is the foundation of my success.” His Irishness has also informed the qualities he finds in a good leader: “honesty, modesty, and concern for the objective and the people helping to achieve that objective.”

Dan and his wife Sue reside in Sands Point on Long Island and have four children, Molly, Daniel, Jack, and Moira.
