Colm Galvin
Colm Galvin is Head of Global Markets U.S. for Bank of Ireland, based in Stamford, Connecticut.
Bank of Ireland’s focus in the United States is primarily on the Corporate and Markets sector, encompassing corporate banking services, wholesale financial markets, and specialized acquisition finance. Colm leads the Group’s U.S. Markets division overseeing an extensive range of services including FX risk management, interest rate risk management, as well as deposit and risk hedging solutions tailored to fulfill the distinct needs of the Group’s clients. Additionally, Colm is responsible for the Group’s U.S. Treasury division including management of the interest rate, FX, and liquidity exposures arising from the Group’s US activities.
Colm’s diversified background has led him through an array of roles across Markets and Treasury, extending across FX and interest rate trading, sales, and wholesale debt execution. Colm holds a BSC in Finance from University College Cork and is an active member of the Institute of International Bankers’ Treasurers Working Group.
An avid sailor, Colm has represented Ireland at multiple World, European, and North American Championships. Originally from Cork, he lives in New York City with his wife Cathy and son Finn.
