Bill Byrne is the Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Aer Lingus. He is responsible for corporate and leisure sales in Ireland, the United Kingdom, North America and Europe. Byrne has also served as the Chief Customer Officer for Aer Lingus on an interim basis.

Before joining Aer Lingus, Byrne was the VP of Inbound Sales for Hertz. Byrne also enjoyed a 30-year career at United Airlines lastly as Managing Director of Specialty Sales. Among his roles at United, he was responsible for Global Sales transformation, Central Division Regional Sales, Country Director for France, and Managing Director of Organizational Development. Byrne received a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University of Chicago and a Masters and Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Chicago born, Byrne holds U.S. and Irish citizenship. He is married and the father of four children. His mother was born in Mayo and father in Waterford.
