MARTIN McCauley, a 61-year-old man with an address in Esmondale in Naas, Co Kildare, has been remanded in custody in connection with the deaths of three police officers in an IRA bomb attack near Lurgan in 1982. THE tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch(59) has been confirmed dead. The Bayesian, the 56m (183ft) yacht on which he was celebrating a recent court victory, sank in bad weather. Nell McCafferty, campaigning journalist and activist, dies at 80
