Hailed by Opera News as having a voice of “such strong presence and beauty of tone that she left one longing for more,” Irish-American soprano Francesca Federico is an acclaimed interpreter of opera and Irish folk music. She recently completed a Fulbright arts residency at Limerick’s Irish World Academy, focusing on the origins of Irish traditional music in 20th-century English-language art songs.
Her upcoming concert “Visions, Longing and Madness” will highlight both Irish traditional tunes and classical art songs by Irish composers and poets, and will include works by Barber, Clarke, and Villiers Stanford, among others.
Opera News and Francesca are pleased to invite you to “Visions, Longing, and Madness: A Fundraiser Concert.” Any donations generated by this concert will go towards producing her debut album.
The concert will take place on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at OPERA America’s National Opera Center, 330 7th Avenue #7th Floor New York, NY 10001.
Funds raised from this concert will go toward recording her debut album later this year, alongside collaborators from the American Contemporary Music Ensemble. If you are unable to attend, please consider donating to the album fund.
