For more than 155 years, The Floating Hospital has assisted the neediest New Yorkers with their everyday and chronic medical concerns. But, providing healthcare alone is never enough. The Floating Hospital does more because they have to do more, meeting people where they are and doing whatever it takes to make them whole. By participating in The Floating Hospital’s Summer Benefit Gala, you can help provide advanced patient healthcare services, access to that care, and the education needed to achieve more independent, stable, and healthy lives. You help families get home again.
Join The Floating Hospital on Monday, June 12th for a roaring twenties-inspired evening and help New York City’s homeless families get the critical healthcare, education, and support they need to get back home again.
This year, the annual gala will be at the historic and sumptuous Metropolitan Club, the perfect setting for our Roaring Twenties theme. Emmy-award-winning WPIX reporter Monica Morales is the special guest host for the evening, and the Duke Ellington Legacy Band (led by Duke’s grandson, Edward Ellington) will entertain with live jazz music throughout the evening. Enjoy bespoke cocktails and a generous buffet. It promises to be a splendid night that can only be made better by your presence.
Healthcare Alone is Not Enough
The Floating Hospital expands the services families need by:
Breaking down barriers to care by providing families with free roundtrip transportation to their healthcare appointments.
Helping families navigate the complexities of homelessness, including free health education for all ages, in school and at our clinic.
Providing families with urgently needed food, clothing, and supplies such as diapers and hygiene products. They supply kids with toys, books, and backpacks stocked for school. Many families seen have little more than what they can carry in a suitcase or shopping bag.
Assisting families to navigate the housing and healthcare systems and other bureaucracies, ensuring they meet the protocols to receive benefits, education, and housing.
Facilitating positive changes to their life trajectory through Camp Rise Up, their summer camp experience.
Help Continue a Legacy of Love for Those Who Need It Most
Political climates change, and institutional care programs are constantly changed by political forces that restrict and cut funding. In good times and bad, the need for charity has not diminished. And The Floating Hospital will always be there.
Your ticket or sponsorship will help continue The Floating Hospital’s historic legacy of providing access to compassionate care and relief for our city’s neediest families, regardless of their ability to pay.
