Currently a managing director at Merrill Lynch Investment Management, Timothy Mahoney began his career at the firm as a summer intern on the floor of the American Stock Exchange in 1979. In 1983, he joined the Unit Investment Trust department where he worked in both equity and fixed income trading. He was the Chief Investment Officer from 1999 to 2001. He joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as head of equity trading in 2001.
Mahoney earned his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross and his MBA from the Stem School of Business at New York University. He is a chartered financial analyst.
A second-generation Irish American, his father’s family has roots in County Cork. He lives in Westfield, New Jersey with his wife and daughter.
