Senior Managing Director of International Strategy and Investment Group Inc. (ISI), Thomas Gallagher is a third-generation Irish American. He runs ISI’s Washington office analyzing the financial market implications of policy action and political developments. Prior to joining ISI in February 1999, Gallagher worked as managing director at Lehman Brothers where he served as a political economist for 13 years. Before being involved with Wall Street, he worked in the federal government for eight years.
Gallagher has been ranked on the Institutional Investor’s All-Star Team for Washington research for the past 11 years, and he was rated the number one Washington analyst in 2003. He is also a regular panelist on Louis Rukeyser’s Wall Street. He serves on the Community First Bankshares Board of Directors as well as being on the Editorial Advisory Board of Mental Floss magazine.
After obtaining a BS in economics and political science from the University of South Dakota, Gallagher went on to receive a masters in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
