Jim Sheridan will introduce his new film In America for the closing night of the fifth annual Boston Irish Film Festival at the end of April. The acclaimed Irish director will be on hand for the East Coast premiere of the film. Festival director Peter Flynn remarked, “Sheridan’s work as a writer, producer, and director has done more for the image of Ireland and the Irish onscreen than any other filmmaker I know of. It’s a great honor to have him at the event.” Other titles screening at the festival include Puckoon, the Oscar-winning Give Up Your Aul Sins, Disco Pigs, and The Ghost of Roger Casement. Sheridan’s autobiographical In America stars Samantha Morton and tells the story of an Irish family who move to New York. ♦
