One way to survive the weather in Ireland is to buy a holiday home in Spain. Increasingly the Irish are doing just that. The Costa del Sol has also become a major property investment zone for Irish investors. It’s reckoned that over 200,000 properties on the Costa del Sol and Marbella are Irish-owned.
And now the ex-pats have their own magazine.
Irish writer and newspaper columnist, Angela Phelan, a regular visitor to Marbella, noticed there were specific magazines for visiting germans, Swedes, Brits, Finns and Spaniards from the North of Spain, but nothing for the Irish. So the idea for iStyleMarbella was born.
The magazine launched in Dublin and Marbella inJuly, has a circulation of 30,000: 15,000 in Ireland and the same along the Costa del Sol from Costa Mijas to Manilva. the premier issue features the latest in fashion, fab villas and bargain properties, golf resorts, and a terrific interview with 007 hunk Pierce Brosnan.
The upcoming September issue will feature Irish designer Louise Kennedy’s Autumn/Winer collection and an interview with Touched by an Angel star Roma Downey. ♦
