Congratulations are in order for James Houlihan of Dublin and Kevin O’Regan of Tallaght, Ireland. In 1997, they won the Redington Scholarship, established in honor of Irish immigrant Joseph P. Redington, and his wife, Elizabeth Brennan Redington. Since 1985 the scholarship has helped students from Ireland pursue their education in America.
James Houlihan, who fulfilled his childhood dream of living in the U.S., double-majored in German and international business, while O’Regan earned his B.S. magna cum laude in Biology, both at the University Scranton in Pennsylvania. Houlihan received a full scholarship to continue his studies at Temple University and O’Regan, who got a full ride from the College of Penn State, will be working towards a Ph.D. in Microbiology. ♦
