“I have so many pins and bolts in me I feel like Boris Karloff,” Liam Neeson told the Daily News during one of his first public forays in recent months. The Phantom Menace star suffered a broken pelvis this summer after he collided with a deer while riding his motorcycle in upstate New York.
Wielding a pair of metal crutches, Neeson appeared at the Four Season’s Hotel in New York City in September for the launching of Donna Karan’s fragrance for men, and the new and improved Details magazine. Neeson was on hand to be honored as one of New York’s 100 Most Dynamic Men. For the next month or so, Neeson will be in rehab before jetting off to Sicily in November to co-star with Andie McDowell in a thriller about an American cop and the Mafia. Next on his itinerary will be Rome, to shoot Gangs of New York where he’ll play Leonardo DiCaprio’s father.
The lunch was also attended by fellow Irish American actor (and top 100 nominee) Peter Gallagher, who had recently broken some ribs after being thrown from a horse. ♦
