Adrian Flannelly
Broadcaster Adrian Flannelly celebrated his 41st St. Patrick’s Day on the air on March 17th with interviews, music, commentary and chat. It was just like any other day at WVNJ, except the celebration went on all day, with friends and fans, Irish and Irish Americans, a cross section of authors, community workers, activists and musicians waiting to go on the air.
Flannelly had dedicated his entire career as a broadcaster to raising issues of concern to the American Irish community. He helped reform visa lotteries and U.S. immigration laws, legalizing thousands of undocumented Irish in the 80s and 90s and he continues to use his popular radio show as a conduit of change. And in all of his endeavors Adrian, who is from Attymass, Co. Mayo, is ably assisted by his wife and executive vice president, Aine Sheridan.
